What is Invisalign?
A more balanced, even straight smile in as little as three months!
Invisalign uses sets of almost-invisible clear aligners to straighten teeth, close gaps and improve smiles over time.
What’s so great about the Invis treatment concept is that it transforms your smile discreetly and makes you comfortable using practically invisible removable aligners.
These removable braces are 100% transparent and are custom-crafted to fit your mouth perfectly during each stage of the Invisalign process. This means you can straighten your teeth without any metal wires or brackets.
Dr Maini is our teeth straightening expert with more than 20 years of experience.
The Following Conditions

How Invisalign Works
Precise 3D scans allow us to map out a treatment plan you’re comfortable and happy with. We use an advanced piece of technology called the iTero scanner.
Our Invisalign trained doctors and dentists will be able to use this equipment to take thousands of images of your mouth’s structure within 60 seconds, allowing orthodontists greater accuracy.
Your custom aligners will be so perfectly manufactured that your smile will gradually move in small increments, adjusting to a new aligner you wear every couple of weeks.
As the teeth in the tray are slightly straighter than your own, this puts slight pressure on your teeth to move over the week to match the aligner.
- Step 1: Assessment & consultation
- Step 2: Start wearing your aligners
- Step 3: Attend regular check-ins
How Long Does Invisalign Take?
The treatment length depends on the severity of your bite.
Still, as the invisible transparent brace system is proven to be fast, many patients can expect anywhere from six to twelve months for their treatment to be completed.
Patients should remember that the average Invisalign case does not often extend longer than 12 months.
What Does Invisalign Fix? See What Invisalign Can Do
Invisalign has advanced considerably since its first launch in the 90s. The treatment can do it all, from simple straightening to much bigger fixes and complex cases.
For many people, Invisalign is the right treatment for them, whether they just want to improve their visible smile slightly or for children, who can use the invisible systems without interruption to their daily life.
- Overbite: Upper front teeth close in front of the lower teeth.
- Underbite & Crossbite: Lower teeth protrude past the upper front teeth / upper and lower jaws do not line up.
- Gapped Teeth: Extra spaces that exist between teeth.
- Open Bite: Top and bottom teeth do not meet.
- Crowded Teeth: Not enough room in the mouth for all the teeth to fit.
- Baby & Permanent Teeth: Phase 1 orthodontic treatment.
- Minor Misalignment: For patients who want a perfectly straight smile.
The Amazing Advantages Of Invisalign
- Straightens teeth in half the time
- Less dental appointments
- Removable and transparent
- Easy to clean and maintain
- Minimal discomfort
Does it have any limitations?
What about what Invisalign can’t do?
If a patient’s teeth are twisted or are angled more than 45 degrees, Invisalign braces may not be able to correct this.
The same might be said for teeth that are too small, too round or severely pointy as this can affect their fitting in the aligners properly.

Your Consultation
On your first visit to discuss Invisalign treatment, we will thoroughly examine the teeth before discussing what you would like to achieve and whether you are a suitable candidate.
Invisalign expert Dr Neera Maini will give you all the information you need to decide whether Invisalign is the right course of action for you.
Then, if you choose to go ahead, we will send impressions and photographs of the teeth to Invisalign’s laboratories, along with a comprehensive set of instructions for production.
Aligner Production
Invisalign’s laboratory team transforms the impressions and photographs into 3D images used to make your unique aligners.
The number of aligners needed varies with each patient and can be anything from 12-50, depending on the complexity of treatment.
Your New Aligners Arrive
Once you receive your first Invisalign clear braces, you’ll need to wear them for around two weeks before changing to your next set.
After that, we’ll provide one or two replacement sets so you can carry on with treatment before your first follow-up appointment at Aqua Dental Clinic.
We are always on hand to discuss any problems or questions you may have.
Your Treatment
Your aligners should be worn for around 20 hours every day and removed only when eating, drinking or brushing teeth.
You’ll re-visit the practice around every six weeks to check on progress and receive your latest replacement aligner. Each new aligner brings the teeth a little closer to their perfect position.
Smile - You’re All Done!
Invisalign treatment time varies from patient to patient and usually lasts 6-12 months.
After wearing each set of braces in the treatment plan, your orthodontic treatment is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are invisible braces?
Invisible braces, also known as clear or transparent braces, are a type of orthodontic treatment designed to straighten misaligned teeth while being nearly invisible. Unlike traditional metal braces, invisible braces use a series of custom-made aligners to gradually reposition teeth.
These aligners are made from clear plastic material and are custom-moulded to fit your teeth. They will be changed every two weeks to make adjustments to the position of your teeth. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will gradually move until they are in the desired position.
One of the main benefits of this type of treatment is that the aligners are virtually invisible, making them an ideal option for those who are hesitant about traditional metal braces. The clear, plastic aligners are also more comfortable than metal braces as they don’t have any wires or brackets that could cause irritation or soreness.
Invisible braces can be used to treat a wide range of dental issues, including crooked teeth, crowded teeth, misaligned teeth and gaps between teeth. They also offer an excellent option for those who have experienced relapse after traditional braces or who have an orthodontic treatment for the first time.
It’s worth noting that invisible braces are not suitable for everyone. Patients with severe dental issues may require more extensive orthodontic treatment, which can be more effective with traditional metal braces. It’s important to consult with an orthodontist to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your needs.
Overall, invisible braces offer a comfortable and discreet way to achieve a straighter smile. With treatment times ranging from a few months to a couple of years, invisible braces provide a more convenient and flexible option than traditional metal braces.
What are invisible braces made of and what do they look like?
Invisible braces, also known as clear aligners, are orthodontic devices that are made from a clear, medical-grade plastic material. These aligners are custom-moulded to fit your teeth and are designed to gently shift your teeth into the correct position over time.
Unlike traditional metal braces, which use brackets and wires to apply pressure to the teeth, invisible braces are designed to apply a gentle, constant force to your teeth. This force gradually moves your teeth into the correct position.
The clear plastic material used in the construction of invisible braces is typically made from a medical-grade thermoplastic material called polyurethane. This material is highly flexible and durable, allowing the aligners to withstand the pressure of daily wear.
When you wear invisible braces, they are almost invisible to the naked eye. The clear plastic material allows them to blend in with your teeth, making them an ideal option for those who are self-conscious about wearing braces.
Each set of invisible braces is custom-made to fit your teeth perfectly. This ensures that they are comfortable to wear and that they apply the right amount of pressure to your teeth to achieve the best results.
If you’re considering invisible braces as an option for straightening your teeth, it’s important to consult with an orthodontist to determine whether they are the right choice for your specific needs. Your orthodontist can provide you with more information about the materials used in invisible braces and what to expect during the treatment process.
